Do you know what your mountains are?

Good afternoon everyone,

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything on my blog but my life has been busy and I find that I have much to talk about. Much to vent about. And much to be blessed about. Below is an entry that I wrote on April 2nd that I am now getting a chance to post. I hope it speaks to many and if it does not, that is okay too.

I have started back in the morning my quiet time on the way into work and early morning at the office.

I’ve begun my journey with God and rediscovering of what Jesus Christ means to me. This morning while listening to my Joyce Meyer podcast I began going through my blackberry and reading through a couple of my daily devotionals. Two of them touched me but one in particular was called “Speak to your mountain” by Os Hillman. And in this devotional he talks of when Jesus was leaving Bethany and he is hungry. He sees a fig tree. He goes to the tree to only find leaves. He then speaks to the tree that you shall never bare fruit again. Jesus and his disciples continue on to Jerusalem. On the way back they pass by the same fig tree and they notice that the tree is dead. The disciples then remembered what Jesus had said. They tell him look at the tree you cursed.

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea, ‘ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him (Mark 11:22-24).

We are all facing rough times whether it is loosing your job, decrease in salary or loosing that person in your life that gave it meaning. We all have mountains in front of us. For some of us the mountains just seem to keep building. But Jesus tells is if we just have Faith in God and believe in our heart those things in which we ask for then it shall be done. Have faith and ask him for what it is you need.

So ask you today

Do you know what your mountains are? If you do then have faith in God and believe that if you ask for those mountains to be moved that they will be moved. But always remember that it is never about our timing but about the timing of God.
