Happy Friday….Stay Focused by spending time in God’s Secret Pla ce

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 3:51 pm

to bring to a focus or into focus: to focus the lens of a camera.
to concentrate: to focus one’s thoughts.
For all of us that are doing out best to achieve our goals having the ability to stay focus is the most important thing. The lost of focus can hinder us from getting to that destination when we should. But we all know that obstacles can come before us at anytime. Obstacles that often take us off track and leave us unable to focus on anything. But the great news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. We can still move forward and move through during the dark times. We can accomplish this by spending time in God’s Secret Place
Still Reflections, Lakeland, Florida
Psalms 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress: My God, in Him I will trust.”
How Wonderful It Is…
How wonderful it is to dwell in the Secret Place of the Lord
When I dwell their I find peace
When I dwell their I find comfort
When I dwell their I am loved
He allows me to gain a better perspective on everything I am going through
I am able to focus
So I can push through the pain
I thought I would never know this place
And now I do
CTB 1.28.10
The Lord Will See Me Through
I put my blinders on today
Focus only on the tasks ahead
I see no distractions
Only the destination ahead
And if a roadblock occurs
I will hand the wheel over to the Lord
For he will get me through
Until I can gain control again
And only then will I take the wheel back
But until then I will focus on him
And only him
For the Lord will see me through

A Secret Place

Karen Clark-Sheard

Leaving Me Breathless, Lakeland, Florida
This world sometimes seems cruel and cold
And pain doth pierce my very soul,
But there’s a place ,a secret place,
a place where i can go.

A place of peace,
where love abides,
where justice reigns
and God resides,
there is a place,
a secret place,
a place where i can go,

For you shall hide me in your tabernacle
from the rain and storm
and even when my enemies pursue me,
you’ll keep me safe from harm,

And when my heart
is filled with pain,
no peace it seems
ill find again
i find that place
a secret place
a place where i can go

For you shall hide me in your tabernacle
from the rain and storm
and even when my enemies pursue me
you’ll keep me safe from harm

there is safety, in your tabernacle
there is protection, in your tabernacle
there is security, in your tabernacle
there is sanctuary, in your tabernacle
Lord take me, to your tabernacle
i wanna go, to your tabernacle
Lord take me, to your tabernacle
Lord there you’ll reign
hide me-safely-in your-dwelling-place

There is a place
a secret place
a place where i can go
ooooh a secret place
a dwelling place
i wanna go
i wanna go.

So remember before you step out into the world each and everyday take that time to dwell in the Secret Place.

Love You and Have A Blessed Day!

FW: Happy Tuesday…Direction

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 10:50 pm

I find peace knowing that God is my guide through my journey called LIFE

For whichever way he leads me he will never leave me

He will never forsake me

His Grace and His Strength is all I need

No matter what I me feel

I know in my heart

He will make the way for me

He will open the doors that I can not see

And clear the paths i do not know

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

Girlfriends in God – Jan. 26, 2010

January 26, 2010

Mary Southerland

Today’s Truth
2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Friend To Friend
I am terrible at directions. I can totally understand up, down, left and right and have often wondered why all directions are not limited to those four simple words. Trying to read a map gives me a headache and I would starve to death if I had to make a living as a navigator. My husband has finally quit handing me the atlas to find anything on any trip we take together. That’s what billboards and road signs are for – right?

Moving to a new city presents a whole new set of problems for people like me who are directionally challenged but I have learned to cope. I tend to find my way by using landmarks.

When we first moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, I needed directions to the high school our daughter would attend. Instead of whipping out a map, I asked one of the local farmers if he could tell me where the high school was and how I could get there. “Well, you go down this road until you come to the red light just before the one at the big grocery store on the right and the Methodist church on the left. If you get to the church or grocery store, you have gone one light too far. Now, take a right and keep going straight until you pass the goat farm. Turn left on the first street after the goat farm and then follow that street until it quits. Then turn right and the high school is just a hop, skip and a jump away.” Now those are what I call directions!

I fumbled my way around Charlotte until our son rescued me. Jered usually has no problems with directions and can actually comprehend the concept of a map very well. From the time Jered could read, Dan placed an atlas in his little hands at the beginning of every family vacation and announced, “Son, you are our navigator.” As a teenager and now as an adult, Jered can always reach his destination. However, even Jered had a hard time finding his way around Charlotte – until the day he found an aerial map of the city. “I took one look at Charlotte from the air and it all fell into place, Mom.” The same is true in life.

We can seek advice from others about the roads we should take and the turns we should make. We can follow the steps of those who are successful by human standards and we can navigate our way through life by using certain landmarks as our guide. Human triumphs, personal achievements, individual power and earthly wealth all seem like worthy destinations and goals for life, don’t they? The problem with that mindset is that they are temporary, lifeless and have no eternal value.

We are lost without God’s direction. Fortunately, He has handed us an eternal plan and perspective for our life journey. It is called the Bible.

Let’s Pray
Father, I thank You for the power of prayer and for how it guides my path in the right direction. Help me to listen for Your voice above all others. Give me a hunger and thirst for the Word of God and the discipline to apply it in my life. I yield my plan to You and accept yours in return.

In Jesus’ name,

Now It’s Your Turn
Read and memorize Jeremiah 29:11. How does this verse apply to your life … right now?

Read and memorize Proverbs 3:5-6. Identify the five steps you must take in order to see and do God’s will for your life.

Set aside some time today to surrender all that you know about you … to all that you know about God.

More From The Girlfriends
It seems like so many people love me and have a plan for my life. The problem is that they all sound like great plans. But it really does not matter how great those plans sound because the only one that matters is the plan God has for me. His plan is the only plan that guarantees purpose and a meaningful life. The good news is that God longs to show us the plan He has for our life. We just need to keep our gaze on Him, our glance on the circumstances and listen for His voice spoken through the Bible.

Happy & Blessed Wednesday…Prayer

Filed under: Uncategorized — thesuperwomenblog @ 10:16 pm

In light of what is going on in Haiti I would like to focus on Prayer today. Prayer is powerful. It can move mountains and open doors. When in doubt all one must do is ask. We may not get what we want or when we want it but God is always on time.

We may not see when he arrives….but we know when he has been there.

1 a (1) : an address (as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought <said a prayer for the success of the voyage> (2) : a set order of words used in praying b : an earnest request or wish
2 : the act or practice of praying to God or a god <kneeling in prayer>
Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and listen to the cry of my supplications. Psalm 86: 6

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. Philippians 4: 6

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. Psalm 4: 1NT>(NKJV)

This is turning out to be a trying week for me but calling on the Lord has been sustaining me. Once again I went reading through my poetry and I found a poem I wanted to share with you today. It is called ” Love Letter To My Lord”

Love Letter To My Lord

I try to understand

Why is it

I constantly turn and hide from you

Why is it

I re-nig on my promises

That I have made to you

Time and time again

To you whom created me

Why do I shy away from you?

Staying away from you

Has made my soul so weary

How I need your near

There is something with in me

This is afraid to completely let you in

So I write to you today

Asking you to help me

See pass my stubborn ways

I want you

I need for you

To heal that aching place inside

Please Lord

I beg of you

Put me back together

And make me whole again

Happy Tuesday…. Pushing Through and Inner Peace

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 12:03 am

I had one of the mornings when I just felt like visiting that place of “comfort”. The place where I use to go and hide when I didn’t want to deal with the world. I would find myself staying there days at a time. But this morning I didn’t give myself that I chance. I made a quick visit and I went on my way. I used that time to spend with God and he helped me to push through and make it out.

I located a poem I wrote about it a couple of years ago and it felt so new to me. How many times have you found yourself in this place? And how long do you stay? As my poem says “it is okay to visit….but it is not a place to call home”

It’s okay to visit
I know I sometimes do
But be very careful
Never to overstay your visit
Because believe me
That is not something you want to do
You’ll find yourself
Making excuses
Delaying your journey
To that wonderful place called The Future
You see, staying in the town of the present
Is cool for a little while
Because it will keep you on the path towards The Future
But girl if you stay in the fields of The Past
Your neighbors Fear and Doubt will hold on for as long as they can
Then Hate and Pain
Will make their way
Down the road
And you will never want to go
So my friend
I suggest to you
Make your visit
As short as possible
This may be a place to visit from time to time
It is not a place to call home

“People who soar are those who refuse to sit back, sigh and wish things would change. They neither complain of their lot nor passively dream of some distant ship coming in. Rather, they visualize in their minds that they are not quitters; they will not allow life’s circumstances to push them down and hold them under.” – author unknown

“My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.”

Michael Jordan quotes (American NBA Basketball Player, widely considered to be the greatest player in the history of the game, b.1963)

Since I was out yesterday and I didn’t get a chance to send you anything I decided to throw in something extra my e-mail today. It took me a long time to find my Inner Peace. That place where it is quiet and no matter what is going on around me I can still remain calm and workout whatever I needed to. First I had to learn to let go of all the noise and the madness that was going on inside my head and I realized that I had the tools to help me do that all along. God and my poetry. With that being said I hope you enjoy the poem and it inspires you to find that Inner Peace

For far to long

I’ve been searching for peace

To calm the storm within

Seeking peace

Through things that I can

Instant gratification one may say

But that is it

It is only there for an instant

And I am once again left with the

Anxiety, rage, pain and fear

That has previously plagued me

So morning I woke up

And said a little prayer

Asking God to open my eyes

Once again

So I can get a better understanding

Of the actions I have been taking

And a voice within me said

Be still…..within is where you will find your peace

So each day after I’ve begun

To take in the world around me

Analyze my reactions to certain situations

Then I began to pick-up that pen and paper again

Releasing those thoughts

Positive or negative

From my mind

To my hand

To the pen

On to paper

I have found my answer

To finding

Writing my poetry

Happy Friday….Faith

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 10:28 pm
Hold on to your Faith that God will make a way for you. If he got you through today he can get you through anything.
2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11: 1(NKJV

Matthew 17:19-20 “Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, ‘Why could we not cast it out?’ He said to them, ‘Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Gentle Faith

The soft embrace of a summer’s breeze

Is calm and gentle like the hand of God

That hugs and comforts I

With love and tenderness

A Father that I yearn to know

A Brother who I yearn to believe

And faith that I hold onto with my life

Because without faith

I have nothing

Without faith I have no love

Without faith I have no soul

Without faith I have no one

With faith I have all that God has given me

With faith I have all the blessings that I deserve

With faith I will have all I need

Because with faith, God hears me
Jacqueline Webb
On The Wings Of Faith

Spread your wings of faith and fly

Don’t let opportunities past you by

Rise above your impossibilities

Soar over your adversities

Don’t let doubt scheme

It destroys your hope and dreams

Doubt is your worst enemy

It brings fear and agony

Doubt closes but faith opens the door

So fly on the wings of faith and explore

You can’t see the wind but it blows

That’s the way faith flows

Without faith you can not please God

So fly on the wings of faith and rise above the odds

Help for Haiti – E-mail received from President Barack Obama

Filed under: Uncategorized — thesuperwomenblog @ 8:22 pm

Friend —

On Tuesday, a catastrophic earthquake struck near Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but the death toll — already in the thousands — is climbing fast.

This is the worst earthquake to hit the area in more than 200 years. Entire communities have been ripped apart and as many as 3 million people have been directly affected, including tens of thousands of American citizens who are in Haiti.

Our neighbors in Haiti are racing to confront the enormous devastation — and the OFA community can help.

Click here for more information about essential relief efforts and ways you can help today.

Footage is pouring in of homes collapsing, Haitians carrying injured family members, and hospitals being overrun in what was already the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.

I have directed my administration to respond with a swift, coordinated, and aggressive effort to save lives. Personnel from the United States and our partners in the international community are on the ground in damaged areas right now, working side by side with the Haitian people. They’re providing much-needed food, water, and sanitation supplies, saving lives and helping local communities start to rebuild.

Despite the fact that we are experiencing tough times here at home, I encourage those who can to reach out and help. It’s in times like these that we must show the kind of compassion and humanity that has defined the best of our national character for generations.

Click here to find out what you can do:

As this story continues to unfold, I hope you will continue to keep the people of Haiti in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the many Haitian-Americans who have done so much to enrich our country and who are worried about friends and loved ones in this time of need.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

Be Thankful
By Author Unknown
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Happy Tuesday….Claim It

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 12:38 am
I felt the need today to resend out this poem that was written some time ago.

The original poem spoke of how I would not allow any man in my life determine who I was. But I decided to revamp it and direct it not to just a man but MAN. It is so easy to get caught up in what this world thinks of us. But today I just wanted to remind you of that God view of you means so much more.

Claim it – REVAMPED

No longer

Will I

Try to find

Who I am

Through the eyes of MAN

False hopes false truths

Is all this world

Seems to want to reflect upon me

Knowing that I am much more than

What this world wants me to believe

Seeking my identity

From approval

From Praise

From the Outside World

When the Father has already said

I am His

This is all that matters

And now that I know this

I Claim It

So I shout out loud

I belong to the Father

And that is all that matters

And whoever you say I am

That is all I shall be

For the names below are not all that defines me

For I am your Child

And you are my Father

How perfect is your love

Now all I must do is
