I Can’t Do It Without Him – Reflective Post

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails,Faith,My Life — thesuperwomenblog @ 3:34 pm

I’ve been in a very reflective place in my life for the past couple of months. And even more so in the past couple of weeks. Every article, blog or motivational e-mail has directed and aided me in this reflective state. Even down to my final assignment for class that I am currently working on is a Reflective Paper.  I know that when one reflects on life it can be a good thing but sometime reflecting can open up a lot of wounds and sores that you thought healed but has not. Causes you so shift away from the good in your life and crab a hold of the pain.

They say that most people lean on God when things are going bad but I have been the exact opposite. I have hidden away from him for I have felt ashamed for the things that I feel; those things that I should have left a lot of things where they have been in the past and moved on from it. But it seems that I am still attached in someway. With all this being said I read Joel & Victoria blog post this morning and it touched me in the heart in a way I can not explain. It reminded me that God is there and even more so when I need him. He is my peace during the storm and right now I am in a storm. So why not seek that peace. Allow him to still the waters.

We try to keep our life in order with schedules, our Blackberry and sticky notes but that means nothing when we are out of order on the inside. To be Super Women we need to be centered on the inside so that the outside won’t shake us or move us. So always remember to take the time and spend with him and talk to him. Learn to really give it all to him and read his word…his promises. Know what it is he really has in stored for you. So when those things come at us we can speak it.

Always be mindful of your day

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails,Faith,Mental Health,My Life,Self Awareness — thesuperwomenblog @ 4:09 pm

Mindfulness refers to being completely in touch with and aware of the present moment, as well as taking a non-evaluative and non-judgmental approach to your inner experience. For example, a mindful approach to one’s inner experience is simply viewing “thoughts as thoughts” as opposed to evaluating certain thoughts as positive or negative.

I find it easy lately to get caught up in my day to day responsibilities and the things that I have to do (need to do). These are the days that by the time I look at the time it is 11p and I wonderful where did my day do. I have some how forgotten to step back and take time to enjoy the day God has given me and to count al my blessings.

Below is an article of ways we came become mindful of our day. I ask that you don’t just read it but take it and and try some of the things that are mentioned. Life is too short, don’t just let your days pass you by anymore.

Love Letter to My Lord

I keep hearing of this wonderful love

A love better than what any man can give

How I want to experience this love

That I have heard so much about

To see the look of pure joy on one’s face

When they speak of you

I get excited yet sad

Excited that I too

Can feel this kind of joy

Sad that

I haven’t yet experienced it just yet

But I have learned

The secret to feeling and obtaining that love

The secret for having that joy

Appear on my face

I just have to open my heart to you

Talk to you

Get to know you

I want to love you

Like I have loved no other

So Lord

Can you show me this love that I have heard so much about?

I Am Ready

Written by CTB

Today I feel so much love beyond belief. I didn’t think I would ever really know how this love would feel but each and every day I am surprised by how much I do feel it. And it is greater than I thought it would ever be. I am glad that I waited and trusted that it would come.

It is Here

It is here

And it was worth the wait

The love above all love

It is a feeling I can’t explain

When I feel lonely

It comforts me

When I am hurt

It takes the pain away

When I am lost

It lights my way

What love could this be I am talking about

Much greater than any man can give

And the best thing next to the love of my daughter

It is the love of God you see

It was there all along

I just need to open my heart to it

Once I did

It was completely revealed.

Happy Thursday…..BE HAPPY

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 10:13 pm

For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.

Psalm 30:5

To live happily is an inward power of the soul.

Alice Meynell –

(Alice Christiana Gertrude Thompson Meynell (22 September 1847 – 27 November 1922) was an English writer, editor, critic, and suffragist, now remembered mainly as a poet.)
Happiness is not a matter of events; it depends upon the tides of the mind.

“Don’t wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get, you’ve got to make yourself.” Alice Walker

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t
wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”

Happy Monday….Motivation

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 6:54 pm

1 a : the act or process of motivating b : the condition of being motivated
2 : a motivating force, stimulus, or influence : incentive, drive

The best way out is always through.
Robert Frost

He who hesitates is lost.

Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I needed the motivation this week so bad. I stayed in the bed all day Saturday. And when Sunday morning came I was so tempted to do the same. So I gave thanks to the Lord for waking me up and after speaking to my cousin I knew it was time to get up and get out.

Have you ever had those mornings, days, weeks or months….which eventually leads to another year going by and you were not motivated to do anything. That has been me for a while now. I’ve become to comfortable with my life choices until things happened that woke me up. So now I am back to being proactive with my life. I will use the tools that I have in accordance w/ building a long lasting relationship with the Lord. Some days I fall short but I do my best not to stay in that funk. I look no more for the motivation of others for what shall I do when those around me lack the motivation to give. I must now be able to motivate myself and replenish what I have taken.

I found since I started these e-mails that it has been a huge part of my motivation process.  I haven’t been sending them out on a day to day basis as I started and that has caused me to feel bad in a way. This caused me to loose the motivation I needed to do this on a day to day basis. But instead of letting it go I am just going to keep on going. On the days I find that it is hard to get something out I will focus on what I can really say to my friends and family the next day. I will go to God and ask him to put a message in my heart when I don’t feel I have the words. All I know is that with all that is going on in this world we can not afford not to be motivated by something.

My main motivation in life right now is my daughter. She keeps me going. She is my little angel and my biggest test of them all. If I fail myself then I fail her. And I can’t do that.

You are my light in the dark

You are the sound I listen for when I am trying to find my way out

You are the laughter that fills my heart

You are the pulse that keeps me alive

You saved me from myself

You are too young to know it

But one day you will be old enough to understand

In you all that is good and pure I see in you

You are my motivation

Yep my little one

That is you!

Happy Wednesday…Putting action behind your dreams

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 5:46 pm

A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
Like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
Like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
4 a : a strongly desired goal or purpose <a dream of becoming president> b : something that fully satisfies a wish : ideal <a meal that was a gourmet’s dream>
As I watch my daughter grow and listen to her talk about the things that she wants to do (sing, ballerina) I prayer that God     will never let her loose her ability to dream.  I had many dreams growing up and of course due to circumstances and my like the dreams talked about in the Langston Hughes poem “Dream Deferred”. But then I realized that the difference between a dream deferred and a dream that is alive and well is ACTION.
5 a : a thing done : deed b : the accomplishment of a thing usually over a period of time, in stages, or with the possibility of repetition c plural : behavior, conduct <unscrupulous actions> d : initiative, enterprise <a man of action>
We were taught to dream and dream big from little. But as we begin to grow and move up in life we are taught how to fit into society and make a living. Believe me there is nothing wrong with that, but many people spend their lives trying to fit in and making a living and never ever finding out if they have what it takes to live their dreams. I believe in my heart that our dreams play a big part of our purpose. We are born with gifts that God has instilled in us. Those gifts are apart of our dream which really for some of us is our Purpose in life. We are told as some point that this may be impossible to achieve. Or there are so many people in the world that are doing this why do you think you have a chance. Who said that we had to be a Beyonce or a Jay-Z to make a difference? We are all STAR’S in the eyes of God.
So I challenge you today if you still have dreams that you want to fulfill and those dreams are in line with your God given gifts then that may just be your purpose. Do something about it. Put some action behind it.
James 2:17-18 (New International Version)
17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
Love you and have a blessed day!

Happy Tuesday…..Re-evaluate

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 9:18 pm

Reassess: revise or renew one’s assessment
To evaluate again; to revisit or reassess
Reevaluation – the evaluation of something a second time (or more)
We are now into our second month of 2010. At the beginning of the year I am sure we all made some resolutions and/or goals for what we wanted to accomplish throughout the year. I know for myself I have several things that I am working on for this year and I decided to revisit and revised those goals. Whether they are short term or long term take the time to look them over. See if they are still inline with not only your plans but God plans for you. If you are someone like me that needs to constantly be reminded, look over your goals on a monthly basis. If monthly is not for you then schedule time to revisit those goals in 3 to 6 months time.
Also use this practice to renew your mind. Spend time with God on a daily basis. He is what will ultimately get you through and help you succeed!
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
Here are a couple of sites I came across that I am thinking of incorporating in my tracking and re-evaluating of my goals process. – Personal Goal Setting
Let me know what you think and if you found any of these sites helpful.

Happy Monday…..Correction

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 8:07 pm

1. The act or process of correcting.
2. Something offered or substituted for a mistake or fault: made corrections in the report.
3. Punishment intended to rehabilitate or improve.
I’ve found myself in certain situations lately when I’ve had to be corrected because I either was not seeing what the other person was seeing or did not realize that what I was doing or how I was handling a certain situation affected them. 2 instances in particular caused me to think about how God uses people and situation in his attempt to correct us. Then he backs those corrections up with his word. Whether it is by a scripture or devotional that we have read, or just having the same theme repeated over and over again. Even as an adult we find it hard at times to be confronted with the truth about how we have been acting or things that we haven’t really notice we were doing. We didn’t like it as a child, so I am sure it is even worse as an adult but we often need to remember it is for our good. It makes us stronger and better people. It gives us the knowledge, which in turn gives us the wisdom that we need to help someone else. Whether that be correcting or giving guidance.
I am learning not to be afraid of correction but to embrace it. And even though the flesh in me wants to get upset, my spirit now helps me to calm down and re-think the situation before I over react. I am not 100% there yet, but I am sure not where I use to be. Walking away and feeling depressed and lost. And though sometimes those thoughts try to get in I take myself to God’s Secret Place and I rely on his guidance and understanding so that I too can understand the situation before me.
I cherish those in my life who are not afraid to correct me. Discipline and Corrections is a form of LOVE that is needed on all levels. You are apart of the person I am now and the person that God has deemed me to be.
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”
Proverbs 27:5 “Open rebuke is better than secret love.”
Titus 2:14 “Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.”
2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction”.
Love you and have a blessed day!

Happy Friday….Stay Focused by spending time in God’s Secret Pla ce

Filed under: Daily Motivational E-mails — thesuperwomenblog @ 3:51 pm

to bring to a focus or into focus: to focus the lens of a camera.
to concentrate: to focus one’s thoughts.
For all of us that are doing out best to achieve our goals having the ability to stay focus is the most important thing. The lost of focus can hinder us from getting to that destination when we should. But we all know that obstacles can come before us at anytime. Obstacles that often take us off track and leave us unable to focus on anything. But the great news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. We can still move forward and move through during the dark times. We can accomplish this by spending time in God’s Secret Place
Still Reflections, Lakeland, Florida
Psalms 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress: My God, in Him I will trust.”
How Wonderful It Is…
How wonderful it is to dwell in the Secret Place of the Lord
When I dwell their I find peace
When I dwell their I find comfort
When I dwell their I am loved
He allows me to gain a better perspective on everything I am going through
I am able to focus
So I can push through the pain
I thought I would never know this place
And now I do
CTB 1.28.10
The Lord Will See Me Through
I put my blinders on today
Focus only on the tasks ahead
I see no distractions
Only the destination ahead
And if a roadblock occurs
I will hand the wheel over to the Lord
For he will get me through
Until I can gain control again
And only then will I take the wheel back
But until then I will focus on him
And only him
For the Lord will see me through

A Secret Place

Karen Clark-Sheard

Leaving Me Breathless, Lakeland, Florida
This world sometimes seems cruel and cold
And pain doth pierce my very soul,
But there’s a place ,a secret place,
a place where i can go.

A place of peace,
where love abides,
where justice reigns
and God resides,
there is a place,
a secret place,
a place where i can go,

For you shall hide me in your tabernacle
from the rain and storm
and even when my enemies pursue me,
you’ll keep me safe from harm,

And when my heart
is filled with pain,
no peace it seems
ill find again
i find that place
a secret place
a place where i can go

For you shall hide me in your tabernacle
from the rain and storm
and even when my enemies pursue me
you’ll keep me safe from harm

there is safety, in your tabernacle
there is protection, in your tabernacle
there is security, in your tabernacle
there is sanctuary, in your tabernacle
Lord take me, to your tabernacle
i wanna go, to your tabernacle
Lord take me, to your tabernacle
Lord there you’ll reign
hide me-safely-in your-dwelling-place

There is a place
a secret place
a place where i can go
ooooh a secret place
a dwelling place
i wanna go
i wanna go.

So remember before you step out into the world each and everyday take that time to dwell in the Secret Place.

Love You and Have A Blessed Day!
